A new multimedia studio funded through the Bank of Maldives (BML) Bank Fund 2025 programme has been established at Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre (Dh. AEC) in Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo.
The project was implemented by the United Islamic Society (UIS), a Kudahuvadhoo-based non-governmental organisation, as one of the initiatives selected under the Bank Fund scheme. The newly established facility has been developed for the school’s Media Club, which serves a student population of more than 800 students.
According to BML, the studio has been equipped with professional cameras, lighting equipment, audio recording tools, editing computers and live-streaming hardware, allowing students to engage in a wide range of digital media activities.
The school’s Media Club has previously operated with limited equipment. The project aims to enhance students’ digital media and production skills by providing a dedicated space where they can produce video content, cover school events, compile reports and develop educational material for the school’s official YouTube platform.
The facility is also expected to support community initiatives and institutions in nearby islands, while promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing within the atoll.
Management of the studio will be carried out jointly by the school and the implementing NGO, with plans for ongoing training, maintenance and potential community-based collaborations to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project.
The BML Bank Fund is an annual initiative through which five community projects receive funding of MVR 200,000 each to support development programmes across the Maldives.
