STELCO launches ‘Vashani’ portal for integrated online services

The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has launched a new online portal named “Vashani”, designed to provide all customer services through a single digital platform.

The portal was officially inaugurated by STELCO’s Deputy Managing Director, Dr Ali Azwar, during a special ceremony held to mark the launch.

STELCO noted that the Vashani portal enables customers to access electricity-related services more conveniently through one integrated system. Users can check their electricity bills, make payments and receive updates about their accounts directly on their phones.

Dr Azwar said the platform also allows customers to submit requests that require engineering assessments through the portal, streamlining processes that previously required multiple steps.

To access the Vashani portal, users can register using their eFaas account or a mobile phone number. STELCO stated that registration is available for both individuals and businesses.

The company noted that the initiative is part of the Government’s broader “Maldives 2.0” policy introduced by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to digitalise public services.

Through the portal, customers both in the Maldives and abroad can apply for electricity services and make payments. Users will also receive SMS notifications providing updates on submitted applications, service progress and details of previously obtained services.
