First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has extended greetings on the occasion of International Women’s Day, celebrating the strength and resilience of Maldivian women.

In a message shared on X, the First Lady praised women as mothers, daughters, sisters, and leaders who nurture our families, guide our communities, and inspire our nation. She emphasised that women’s voices play a vital role in shaping the future of the Maldives.

The First Lady urged continued efforts to ensure that every woman and girl enjoys dignity, equal opportunity, and justice, stressing the importance of building a society where dreams are not limited by gender but uplifted by fairness and respect.

Her remarks come as the Maldives joins the global community in marking International Women’s Day 2026, a day dedicated to recognising women’s contributions and advancing gender equality.
