The Maldives participated in the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting held in London, United Kingdom.

High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the United Kingdom, Iruthisham Adam, represented Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel at the meeting.

Discussions during the meeting focused on ongoing efforts to strengthen the effectiveness of the Commonwealth, as well as preparations for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting scheduled to be held in November this year. The meeting also provided an opportunity for member states to exchange views on key challenges facing Commonwealth countries.

The Commonwealth currently comprises 56 member countries. Since rejoining the organisation, the Maldives has been working closely with the Commonwealth in various areas, particularly in advancing the interests of Small Island Developing States.
