Fenaka Corporation has announced that construction of the Addu Central Powerhouse will commence after the holy month of Ramadan.
The project has been contracted to Dubai-based Definit Solutions, which serves as the Maldivian agent of Anglo-Belgian Corporation, a Belgian company specialising in engine manufacturing. Anglo-Belgian Corporation will supply the generators required for the power plant.
According to the agreement, five 8DL36 generator sets will be supplied to Fenaka. The generators are expected to produce a combined capacity of 26 megawatts of electricity, contributing to the development of the central power station in Addu City.
Speaking on State Media, Fenaka Managing Director Mohamed Najah said administrative work related to the project is currently underway and that construction of the power plant is scheduled to begin after Ramadan.
MD Najah added that the project is expected to be completed by July 2027. In addition to supplying the generators, Definit Solutions has also been contracted to carry out the construction of the building and the installation of the generator sets.
