President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed will exchange Eid al-Fitr greetings with members of the public this year, continuing a longstanding custom.

The President’s Office announced that the greeting ceremony will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Eid day at Mulee’aage.

The invitation has been extended to the general public, including dignitaries, foreign representatives, corporate leaders and members of non-governmental organisations. The President and First Lady have also expressed a particular wish to welcome families, encouraging children and young people to take part in the festive occasion.

Attendees will be able to enter Mulee’aage through the main gate on Medhuziyaaraiy Magu, which can be accessed via Shaheed Abdulla Zuhair Hin’gun.

The official moon sighting to determine the start of Eid al-Fitr will take place on the evening of 18 March. The calendar indicates that Eid al-Fitr is expected to fall on 20 March this year.
