The People’s National Congress (PNC) has launched a one-day nationwide door-to-door campaign ahead of the upcoming Local Council elections, Women’s Development Committee elections, and the public referendum scheduled to be held alongside them.
The campaign began today as part of the party’s efforts to mobilise support ahead of the elections and the referendum vote.
Speaking to MMTV, PNC Secretary General Muaz Haleem stated that the campaign will be conducted in two sessions today, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and again from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. He said that while the evening session has already commenced, similar activities will also take place across various parts of the country during the night.
Muaz stated that the campaign is being organised under the direct supervision of the party’s campaign manager Ibrahim Falah. He added that the activities are being carried out with the guidance and advice of the LCE Technical Committee, in coordination with PNC constituency leaders and steering committees nationwide.
As part of preparations for the upcoming elections, PNC has intensified its campaign activities across the country. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has also been participating in door-to-door campaign activities together with party candidates.
So far, President Dr Muizzu has met with a large number of residents across the four districts of Malé, as well as in Villimalé and three areas of Hulhumalé.
The Local Council elections, Women’s Development Committee elections, and the referendum on holding concurrent presidential and parliamentary elections are scheduled to take place on April 4.
