New healthcare expansion projects launched across five islands

Agreements were signed on Wednesday to construct new extension buildings aimed at expanding healthcare facilities across five islands.
Under these agreements, a new facility will be constructed at the Gaafu Dhaalu Hoan’dehdhdhoo Health Centre. The project, valued at MVR 8.1 million, includes a nurse station, a four-bed ward, private rooms, a laboratory, and a public health unit, with a completion timeline of 365 days.
Additionally, Fenaka Corporation has been contracted for expansion works in Raa Maakurathu and Raa Vaadhoo. The Maakurathu project, valued at MVR 5.1 million, will include a four-bed ward, a laboratory, a nurse station, procedure room. The Vaadhoo project, worth MVR 5.7 million, features a similar ward alongside a garage and laundry facilities.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has also been tasked with works at the Thaa Kan’doodhoo and Kaafu Himmafushi health centres. The Kan’doodhoo project involves completing construction of a new building at a value of MVR 21.8 million over 390 days.
In Himmafushi, an MVR 11.2 million project will see the construction of a new building equipped with two four-bed wards, private rooms, an X-ray room, and a laboratory, with a scheduled completion period of 360 days.
