President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the Creator Hub being developed in Malé will be officially opened on Republic Day this year.

Speaking at the official launch of PayPal services in the Maldives, the President said construction of the Creator Hub is progressing rapidly and that the facility will open on 11 November. He said the hub will provide state-of-the-art production studios, modern resources and collaborative office spaces designed to support creators, entrepreneurs and innovators.

The Creator Hub is one of the initiatives launched under the Government's efforts to develop the country's creative economy. The 11-storey facility is expected to provide dedicated workspaces and a range of resources aimed at supporting artistic and creative industries.

President Dr Muizzu said efforts are also underway to ensure the facility meets the needs of professionals working in the sector. As part of that process, Business Centre Corporation has been conducting consultations and forums with stakeholders to gather feedback on the services and facilities to be provided at the hub.

He also highlighted plans to establish regional centres aimed at promoting Maldivian cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship through the digital economy. These include a lacquer work training centre in Baa Thulhaadhoo and a dedicated handicrafts centre in Gaafu Dhaalu Gadhdhoo.

President Dr Muizzu said the opportunities being created through digital transformation and the creative economy should enable Maldivians to expand their presence in international markets and strengthen their participation in the global economy.
