First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has inaugurated a new dialysis centre and emergency room at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.
Following the inauguration, the First Lady toured both facilities.
The new developments form part of ongoing efforts to enhance services at the hospital. Originally established in 2013 with four beds, the dialysis unit has been upgraded into a fully equipped centre with nine beds. In addition to routine dialysis services, the facility now includes a dedicated isolation bed and the capacity to provide dialysis treatment within the ICU.
The newly opened emergency room has also been developed as a modern, spacious facility fitted with up-to-date medical equipment. It comprises six beds, along with a procedure room and a staff lounge, aimed at improving patient comfort and enabling more efficient delivery of care.
Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital is a key healthcare facility relied upon not only by residents of Haa Dhaalu Atoll, but also by people from nearby islands and neighbouring atolls.
