President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed confidence that candidates of the People’s National Congress (PNC) will give full commitment to fulfilling pledges made to the public if elected, while voicing optimism over the party’s prospects in Saturday’s Local Council and Women’s Development Committee elections.
Speaking in response to a question at a press briefing held at the President’s Office, the President said he has been actively working to garner support for PNC candidates, noting that the party is closely monitoring campaign activities and remains confident of securing public backing in the polls.
He said the PNC is presenting a team committed to responsible and effective governance, adding that candidates contesting on behalf of the party will prioritise the needs of their respective islands and cities while working in line with the expectations of the public.
The President stated that those elected as councillors, mayors and committee members will work with full commitment to fulfil pledges made to the people, expressing confidence that voters will support candidates who demonstrate readiness to deliver on commitments and serve their communities.
