Two seats in the Villimalé constituency have been secured by candidates of the People’s National Congress (PNC) in Saturday’s Local Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.
Ibrahim Samah, who contested on a PNC ticket, was elected to the Villimalé Council. Hishma Ahmed, who ran as a PNC candidate for the Women’s Development Committee, also secured a seat.
Both candidates were successful in their respective races, with the results indicating continued support for the PNC in the constituency.
While the PNC did not secure several city mayoral positions in Saturday’s elections, the party achieved strong results across many islands, winning a majority of council seats nationwide.
