Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib has called for reflection and perseverance following the outcome of Saturday’s elections, stating that not every result marks an end.

In a post shared on social media, the Minister said the path of democracy is not straightforward, noting that it does not progress in a single direction and often presents challenges from different sides.

He stated that success should be recognised with pride, while failure should be seen as an opportunity to reflect, build resilience and work harder, adding that public service should not be measured solely by electoral outcomes.

The Minister emphasised that democratic decisions made by the people must be respected, noting that those in public service should accept such outcomes, learn from them and continue efforts to gain public trust.

He further said that reform and public trust are built over time, adding that meaningful contributions are not defined by a single result, and that individuals with a clear purpose in serving the public will continue their efforts despite setbacks.
