Parliament approves reconstituted Cabinet

Parliament has approved the Cabinet changes proposed by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, following endorsement by the relevant parliamentary committee.
The proposals include the reconstitution of ministerial mandates and the reorganisation of Government institutions, covering the appointment of 14 ministers.
The changes follow the resignation of 10 ministers who stepped down to facilitate planned reforms and allow adjustments to the structure and functioning of the Government.
Under the reconstitution, several ministries have been merged, others dissolved, and mandates revised to reflect the new administrative framework.
Following parliamentary approval, a total of 14 ministers, comprising both former Cabinet members and new appointees, have been sworn in.
