The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has forecast adverse weather conditions across parts of the country today, issuing a Yellow Alert from Lhaviyani to Vaavu Atoll.

In its latest update, MET stated that the Yellow Alert is in effect from 9:10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, with moderate thunderstorms expected during this period.

The agency had earlier issued a White Alert covering a wider area from Noonu to Thaa Atoll until 1:00 p.m., but later upgraded conditions to a Yellow Alert in affected regions.

In addition, a White Alert remains in effect from Laamu to Seenu Atoll until 10:00 a.m. on Monday.

MET forecasts heavy rainfall in several parts of the Maldives during this period, with unsettled weather conditions expected to persist.
