Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM) has opened a new fuel station in Raa Meedhoo as part of ongoing Government efforts to expand access to affordable fuel services across the Maldives.
The Meedhoo station was officially launched under the nationwide fuel skid project introduced in November 2024 to make fuel more accessible to fishermen and the public at prices comparable to those in Malé.
The first fuel station established under the initiative was opened in Raa Dhuvaafaru in December last year.
With the opening of the Meedhoo facility, fuel services under the project are now available in seven islands: Raa Dhuvaafaru, Haa Alifu Ihavandhoo, Haa Dhaalu Hanimaadhoo, Baa Eydhafushi, Shaviyani Milandhoo, Faafu Nilandhoo and Raa Meedhoo.
FSM said the Meedhoo station will provide petrol services for motorcycles, cars, pickups and other land vehicles. The station has also been equipped to supply diesel for boats and launches operating in the area.
The Government has been working to expand fuel services nationwide at affordable prices, while FSM continues efforts to extend operations to additional islands across the atolls. FSM currently operates fuel sheds in three locations in Malé.
