President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended condolences following the passing of veteran public servant Farooq Ahmed, who served the Maldivian State for more than 41 years.

In a post shared on his official X account, President Dr Muizzu highlighted Farooq’s longstanding service to the country, particularly his contributions to the administration and governance of Fuvahmulah in senior positions, including as Atoll Chief.

The President conveyed condolences to Farooq’s family and the people of Fuvahmulah, describing him as an experienced and respected figure who rendered invaluable service to both Dhivehi literature and Maldivian history.

In addition, President Dr Muizzu prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the late Farooq Ahmed eternal peace in Paradise.
