Singapore High Commissioner pays farewell call on Foreign Minister

Non-Resident High Commissioner of Singapore to the Maldives Soo Kok Leng paid a farewell call on Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam on Monday, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation.
Minister Iruthisham conveyed appreciation for the High Commissioner’s contributions during his tenure and acknowledged Singapore’s continued support to the Maldives across various areas of cooperation. She also highlighted the close collaboration maintained between the two countries on issues concerning Small Island Developing States.
During the discussions at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, High Commissioner Soo Kok Leng expressed gratitude to the Government and people of the Maldives for the cooperation and friendship extended to him throughout his diplomatic tenure. He further reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to enhancing the longstanding ties shared between the two countries.
Minister Iruthisham reiterated the importance the Government places on advancing relations with Singapore and conveyed best wishes to the High Commissioner in his future endeavours. She also expressed the Maldives’ continued support and cooperation for the incoming Non-Resident High Commissioner of Singapore to the Maldives.
The Maldives and Singapore maintain close bilateral relations, with cooperation extending across diplomacy, development and international advocacy, particularly on issues affecting small island nations.
