President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the Citizens’ Complaints Bureau, established to receive and address public grievances through a 24-hour system, is expected to begin services before 26 July.

Speaking during the “Nation Chat” programme, the President said the bureau is being established to provide the public with easier ways to submit complaints, concerns and grievances.

He added that the initiative reflects the government’s efforts to improve public services and maintain close communication with citizens.

Earlier this week, the President appointed Mohamed Mahid Shareef as Principal Secretary to the President at the Citizens’ Complaints Bureau under the President’s Office.

The bureau will operate as a 24-hour service that allows the public to submit complaints and concerns through multiple channels.

The office will function under the President’s Office and manage complaints through a digital tracking system designed to monitor and address grievances efficiently. It will also coordinate with relevant government agencies and include a 24-hour call centre.

President Dr Muizzu first announced plans to establish the bureau during his Presidential Address to Parliament on 5 February this year.
