The Maldives Police Service has urged the public to provide any information regarding the fire that broke out at the Housing Ministry building on December 12, 2024.

Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is underway into the incident, which affected the buildings housing three ministries: the Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development, the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy, and the Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure.

The Police are encouraging anyone with relevant information regarding the incident to contact the Major Crime Investigation Department at 9911099 to assist with their efforts.

Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau has stated that a team of foreign experts will also be brought in to aid the investigation as soon as possible.

The Maldives Police Service expressed their gratitude to the public for their continued support and cooperation in such matters.
