At a ceremony held at the President's Office, the agreement was signed by Minister Mohamed Saeed on behalf of the ministry and Mufadal Idris Khumri, Managing Director of MIB. This expansion will increase MIB’s ATM services to 16 atolls, making essential financial services more accessible to residents in rural areas.

Expressing gratitude to MIB as a key partner, he noted that the expansion is crucial in bridging the financial divide across the Maldives.
Currently, MIB operates 39 ATMs nationwide, and this agreement will bring 23 more ATMs across the 19 islands, significantly expanding the bank’s reach and convenience for customers. MIB also aims to extend more services to rural areas, enhancing its commitment to financial inclusion and support for local communities.
