The SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC) has announced that 60 women entrepreneurs will receive financial assistance through the ‘Fashaa Madhadhu’ loan scheme.

Launched under the President's Haftha 14 roadmap, this initiative is specifically designed to help women who face difficulties securing loans from traditional banks due to a lack of verified income.

The scheme offers financial aid of up to MVR 500,000 at a 6% interest rate, with a 12-month grace period. Repayments can be made over seven years, providing flexible support for start-ups. In total, MVR 14 million will be disbursed through the programme, reaching beneficiaries across 16 atolls.

Through ‘Fashaa Madhadhu,’ SDFC aims to empower women entrepreneurs, fostering inclusive economic growth and enabling more women to establish and expand their businesses.
