President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed his condolences on the passing of Former High Court Judge Uz Shuaib Hassan Zakariyya, describing his death as a great loss to the nation and to the legal fraternity.

The President described Uz Shuaib as a prominent figure in the Maldivian legal system who dedicated over 23 years of his life to upholding justice. Renowned for his integrity and judicial expertise, he had earned widespread respect throughout his distinguished career.

Beyond his work in the judiciary, he was also a celebrated educator, mentoring generations of students in jurisprudence and law, and contributing to the future of legal education in the Maldives.

In his message of condolence, President Dr Muizzu prayed for strength and patience for the late Justice’s family during this time of sorrow. He also prayed for Almighty Allah to grant Uz Shuaib eternal peace and Paradise.

The Former Justice's contributions as both a judicial leader and educator have left an indelible mark on the Maldivian legal community, ensuring his legacy will endure for years to come.
