'Operation Kurangi' has gathered over 10,000 foreign nationals' biometrics in an effort to combat illegal migration, with the operation currently spanning 138 islands. The initiative, set to conclude by April 2025, has already led to the closure of businesses run by undocumented migrants, with 5,000 foreigners removed from the country. Minister Ali Ihsan emphasised the Government’s broader crime reduction strategies, focusing on issues like drugs, gang violence, and child protection.
