President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Malé, Maldives this morning after his visits to Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan.

President Dr Muizzu attended the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit during his visit to Saudi Arabia where he strongly advocated for meaningful action in support of Palestine. The Summit was hosted by His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

After his visit to Saudi Arabia, President Dr Muizzu participated in COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. At COP29, he highlighted the need for global action against climate change and the necessity of climate finance as well as the need for financial and technical support to achieve development goals.

The President also reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to climate action at COP29.
