Maldivian, the national carrier of the Maldives, has announced an increase in flight operations to accommodate the growing demand for travel during this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

With a 15-day holiday period, including the last ten days of Ramadan and the Eid celebrations, many people have already begun departing from the capital to visit other islands.

To support this movement, Maldivian has scheduled 30 additional flights to 11 islands across the country. These flights will operate between March 29 April 5, ensuring that passengers can travel conveniently ahead of the festive period.

Among the destinations receiving increased flight services, Seenu Gan will see the highest number of additional flights, with eight extra trips scheduled. Other islands benefiting from expanded operations include Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi, Haa Alifu Hanimaadhoo, Alifu Alifu Hoarafushi, Baa Funadhoo, Laamu Kadhdhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Kaadedhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Maavarulu, Gaafu Alifu Kooddoo, and Gaafu Dhaalu Faresmathoda.

In addition to scheduled domestic flights, Maldivian, which operates a fleet of 25 aircraft, including 11 seaplanes, has also announced special seaplane operations to accommodate the increased travel demand. Seaplane services have been scheduled for Baa Fulhadhoo and Fehendhoo, providing greater flexibility for travellers heading to these destinations.

As is customary during peak travel seasons, Maldivian continues to adjust its flight operations based on passenger demand.
