President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited the National Thalassemia Centre this morning to assess its condition and address ongoing concerns.

During his visit, he met with patients undergoing blood transfusions, listened to their grievances, and assured them that the Government is working to find effective solutions. He also met with medical staff and inspected the facility, reviewing its operations and identifying key challenges.

Following these discussions, he instructed relevant authorities to take immediate action to resolve the issues.

President Dr Muizzu also toured all departments, engaging with parents, staff, and senior officials to better understand the difficulties faced by both patients and healthcare providers.

The Government has already begun implementing measures to enhance services, reaffirming its commitment to improving healthcare for thalassemia patients. Complaints about service quality have persisted for years, with families repeatedly calling for better care and support.
