The Maldivian Government reported a fiscal surplus of MVR 1.3 billion in the first 10 weeks of the financial year, with revenue reaching MVR 7.8 billion and expenditure at MVR 6.5 billion. This marks a 5.4 per cent increase in revenue and a 16 per cent decline in spending compared to the previous year. The surplus is attributed to strengthened financial discipline, a key focus of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s economic recovery efforts.
