The Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has officially inaugurated the Maldives MSME Awards 2025.
This award, presented by the Business Centre Corporation (BCC), aims to recognise the achievements of micro, small and medium enterprises and their vital role in fostering sustainable and resilient economic growth.
This award will boost the credibility and trust among an enterprise’s customers and investors. Additionally, winners will gain invaluable networking with industry leaders and professionals, paving the way for business expansion.
It also aims to increase the international competitiveness of Maldivian businesses, encouraging them to compete on a global scale.
The MSME Awards will feature awards across five main categories, with winners selected by a panel of judges in 16 categories. Additionally, there will be popular awards determined by public SMS voting in 10 categories. The award will also recognise the most outstanding businesses from different regions of the Maldives, as well as those excelling in various industries and fields.
Speaking at the event, the Vice President highlighted the critical role of SMEs in driving economic growth and innovation, and the importance of equipping entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge required to navigate the rapidly evolving markets.
He also stressed the need for increased efforts, particularly in offering financial support, technical training, and legal concessions, to foster the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The MSME Awards will be held annually.
