President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has joined the People’s National Congress (PNC) door-to-door campaign ahead of the upcoming Local Council elections and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.

The campaign activity took place this evening in the West Maafannu constituency.

Accompanying President Dr Muizzu were PNC’s Malé City mayoral candidate, Major General (Rtd) Moosa Ali Jaleel, and Ashiyath Alaika Adnan, who is contesting for the presidency of the Women’s Development Committee in the Malé area. Other candidates contesting for various positions in the constituency also took part in the campaign, along with Cabinet ministers and senior members of the party’s leadership.

During the door-to-door visits, President Dr Muizzu met with families in several households and engaged in discussions. He also interacted with members of the public along the streets.

The PNC continues to carry out campaign activities nationwide and has already secured a number of seats unopposed.

In total, PNC candidates have secured 69 seats without contest, including 28 Council seats and 41 Women’s Development Committee seats.
