The second batch of sessions of the Skills Enhancement Programme for social workers commenced yesterday and will be held until 28th November.

This programme, organised by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, aims to equip social workers with the necessary technical knowledge, training, and skills. It seeks to ensure uniformity in service delivery and enhance the quality of services provided by the Ministry.

As part of the training programme, the technical challenges currently faced by case workers will be identified, and targeted training will be provided to address these issues.

The Ministry aims to provide comprehensive services from a family-centered perspective, assigning a caseworker to each family in a supportive and dependable manner. The training programme aims to equip social workers with the skills and knowledge needed to achieve this goal.

The programme will further strengthen the work of caseworkers at the Family and Children Service Centres, improve the quality of services currently provided, and enhance the delivery of services in a more robust and efficient manner.

The first batch of the training program was conducted successfully on 12th, 13th, 14th, and 16th November.
