As the Muslim world observes the blessed Day of Arafah, 1446, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu conveyed heartfelt prayers for the Maldives and its citizens, expressing hopes for divine mercy, peace, and prosperity.
His message, shared via his official X account on Thursday morning, marked the spiritual significance of the day in the Islamic calendar.
President Dr Muizzu prayed for all Maldivians to be enveloped in Allah’s mercy and continuously blessed with well-being. He also invoked blessings for Muslims around the world, praying that the Hajj of all pilgrims be accepted, that the prayers of the faithful be answered, and that everyone be granted forgiveness in both this life and the hereafter.
Currently, President Dr Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed are in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia undertaking the sacred Hajj pilgrimage. They are joined by a high-level Government delegation and their spouses. The Saudi Arabian government is facilitating all arrangements for the visiting Maldivian officials and their families.
The Day of Arafah, observed on the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah, holds immense spiritual significance for Muslims and is considered the pinnacle of the Hajj pilgrimage. It is a time of reflection, supplication, and seeking divine mercy, not only for pilgrims but also for Muslims around the world.
