Maldives is expected to experience strong winds and rough seas over the next five days, beginning Wednesday.

The Maldives Meteorological Service has stated that the depression currently in the Bay of Bengal is set to intensify within the next 24 hours with its projected path moving northwest towards Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.

At the same time, a low-pressure area has developed southeast of the Maldives, further contributing to adverse weather conditions.

As a result of these combined effects, the weather agency is forecasting rough seas across the country, along with strong winds. In the Southern provinces, winds are expected to range from 15 to 25 mph, while in the Northern and Central provinces, they will range from 13 to 23 mph.

Given the conditions, the weather agency has advised seafarers to exercise caution and take precautionary measures.
