Maldives Customs and Police Services discuss strengthening cooperation

The Maldives Customs Service and the Maldives Police Service have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key security areas, including border control, joint operations, and efforts to combat illicit activities.
The agreement was reached during a courtesy visit by Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen to Commissioner General of Customs Fathimath Dhiyana. The meeting was held at the Shaheed Hussain Adam Building, the headquarters of the Maldives Police Service.
Officials from both agencies emphasised the need for enhanced coordination to address evolving security threats and ensure public safety. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to inter-agency collaboration as a cornerstone of national security efforts.
Senior officials from the Maldives Customs Service were also in attendance, including Deputy Commissioners Abdulla Waheed, Mahmood Riyaz, and Ibrahim Mafaz.
