The Republic of Maldives and the Republic of Tajikistan have signed an agreement granting mutual exemption from visa requirements for their nationals. 

This arrangement allows citizens of both countries to travel visa-free for stays of up to 30 days. The signing ceremony took place at the Permanent Mission of Tajikistan to the United Nations in New York.

Dr Ali Naseer Mohamed, Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations, signed the agreement on behalf of the Maldives, while Hikmat Jonibek Ismoil, Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations, represented Tajikistan.
