President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that construction of the Fitness and Recreation Centre in Noonu Miladhoo will begin within the next two months.

He made the announcement during his ongoing tour of Noonu Atoll, while meeting with Miladhoo residents this afternoon.

The President reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to establishing such centres on all inhabited islands by next year. He noted that significant progress has already been made on the Miladhoo Centre, which includes an outdoor gym and a football field.

He added that additional work, such as installing lights on the football field, is currently underway, and that the overall development of sports facilities is on schedule.

During his four-day tour of Noonu Atoll, the President also provided updates on other projects, including handball courts, futsal grounds, and fitness facilities. The Government aims to complete these initiatives within two years, with several already in progress.
