Several key development projects in N. Magoodhoo are set to begin within the next two to three months, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced during a visit to the island today.

The President confirmed that agreements have been signed and that visible progress will soon follow. Among the projects highlighted was the long-delayed water and sewerage system, which will now be implemented through joint efforts by the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), responsible for material procurement, and Fenaka Corporation, which will provide the required workforce.

Additional plans include expanding the island’s Health Centre and addressing staffing shortages in coordination with the relevant ministries. The President also said steps would be taken to ease space constraints at the local school and to support improvements in sports facilities.

A coastal protection project is also expected to be signed next month, featuring a designated area for beachgoers.

The President’s visit to Magoodhoo is part of his ongoing tour of inhabited islands in Noonu Atoll.
