Police announce vehicle clearance ahead of Independence Day celebrations

The Maldives Police Service has announced that vehicles must be cleared from key areas of Malé City in preparation for Independence Day celebrations.
As part of the preparations, vehicles are to be removed from Boduthakurufaanu Magu, specifically between the Bank of Maldives building and the local market area. The order also applies to Ameer Ahmed Magu, Medhuziyaarai Magu, the roads surrounding the People’s Majlis, and sections of Chandhanee Magu and Lily Magu.

Vehicle owners have been asked to clear these areas by 6.00 p.m. on Thursday. Police stated that any vehicles left after the deadline will be relocated, and illegally parked vehicles will be towed.
Clearing roads ahead of Independence Day has become a routine part of preparations in Malé City, aimed at ensuring public safety and the smooth conduct of official events. Maldives Police Service apologised for any inconvenience and expressed appreciation for the public’s cooperation.
