Meemu Atoll Mulah will soon host a specialised tourism and hospitality training centre, promising to transform employment opportunities for residents across the region's eight inhabited islands.

Out of three tourism development plots desgination by Mulaku Council, the council has allocated a 53,000-square-foot plot in northern Mulah for the initiative, which aims to empower local communities by providing accessible, professional-grade hospitality training.

The project is now welcoming bids from Maldivian businesses until 5th December under a 50-year lease agreement. The proposals must detail community benefits, with mandatory corporate social responsibility initiatives and educational programmes. These requirements ensure the facility will serve not just as a training centre but as a catalyst for broader community development.

The training centre complements the ongoing airport construction project in Mulah, creating comprehensive infrastructure that will enhance accessibility and economic opportunities for all atoll residents.
