The Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skill Development, Dr Maryam Mariya, has unveiled plans to modernise and rebrand Maldives Polytechnic, aiming to create a more positive and technologically advanced learning environment for students.

She acknowledged that the current setup is outdated and underscored the importance of integrating modern teaching methods and infrastructure.

The Government’s rebranding efforts will prioritise advanced technological tools and upgraded facilities, with plans to introduce online learning opportunities, making technical education more accessible across the Maldives.

Minister Dr Mariya highlighted the need for engaging and innovative learning spaces, reflecting the aspirations of today’s youth.

She reaffirmed the Government's commitment to empowering the nation’s youth through modernised education, aiming to transform Maldives Polytechnic into a leading centre for technical training and innovation.

Established in 2010, Maldives Polytechnic plays a crucial role in equipping young Maldivians with technical and vocational skills. Offering courses from certificate to diploma levels across various fields, the institution has expanded its reach with campuses in different regions to train skilled workers nationwide.
