President concludes four-day visit to Haa Dhaalu Atoll

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Malé after a four-day visit to Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
During the trip, the President visited 13 islands: Hirimaradhoo, Finey, Hanimaadhoo, Naivaadhoo, Nellaidhoo, Nolhivaran, Nolhivaranfaru, Makunudhoo, Vaikaradhoo, Neykurendhoo, Kurin’bi, Kumundhoo and Kulhudhuffushi City. He met with Island Councils, Women’s Development Committees, institutional heads and residents to discuss local development priorities and community concerns.
Among the key announcements, the President assured residents of Hirimaradhoo that their relocation to Hanimaadhoo would be completed within 18 months, with housing provided for all residents. He also confirmed that Hanimaadhoo International Airport will become fully operational by November.
Other major initiatives announced included plans for the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation to commence practical work in Naagoashi, the development of Makunudhoo Airport, and the establishment of a branch of the Centre for Holy Quran in Vaikaradhoo.
During his visit, the President also oversaw the signing of several agreements and the launch of major projects covering tourism development, transport network expansion, and airport and harbour upgrades. Further initiatives were announced in housing, education, healthcare, fisheries and agriculture as part of the Administration’s Northern Integrated Development Zone strategy.
The visit formed part of the President’s initiative to tour all Maldivian atolls and engage directly with councils at the island, atoll and city levels.
