President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has described grandparents as a divine blessing and the foundation of love and warmth within families. Extending greetings on the occasion of National Grandparents Day, he conveyed his heartfelt prayers to every Maldivian grandparent on this joyful day.

The President and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed marked the occasion with separate messages on their official X accounts.

The First Lady underscored the vital role grandparents play in nurturing family bonds and fostering a compassionate society. She also extended her prayers and best wishes to all grandparents across the Maldives.

Observed annually on 1 September, National Grandparents Day recognises and honours the invaluable contributions of senior citizens to their families and the nation.
