E-commerce giant Alibaba will host an online workshop for Maldivian entrepreneurs and e-commerce enthusiasts on 16 November, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

Announcing the event, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed said the session forms part of the Government’s efforts to expand opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by partnering with global e-commerce platforms. The workshop will feature experts from Alibaba.com and provide practical guidance on establishing seller accounts on the platform to market Maldivian products internationally.

Minister Saeed highlighted that the initiative fulfils a Government pledge to enable Maldivians to access leading online marketplaces. He added that the collaboration reflects broader efforts to strengthen SMEs and create opportunities for local businesses to grow both domestically and abroad.
