The passport issuance service has been officially launched in Gaafu Alif Villingili, inaugurated by Gaafu Alif Atoll Council President Ibrahim Shaaheen. With the new service, passports submitted online can now be collected directly from the island. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that both passport and national ID services will be expanded nationwide as part of his key policies. Maldives Immigration aims to establish passport services across all provinces before the end of this year, with implementation expected even earlier than the set target.
