Islamic Minister Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has confirmed that all pilgrims who have secured positions for next year's Hajj will be able to make the journey, amidst growing public concern over the pilgrimage list.

The announcement comes as several members of the public raised issues with the current queue system, claiming that some individuals previously positioned at the front have been moved to the back of the queue.

Dr Shaheem provided reassurance that everyone who has obtained a spot through the Hajj Corporation's system for the 1446 Hajj season will have their opportunity to perform the pilgrimage next year.

The Hajj Corporation, a government established company responsible for facilitating Maldivians' Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages, will now manage all Hajj quotas allocated to the Maldives. For this year, Saudi Arabia has granted the Maldives 1,150 spots, whilst the Government continues its efforts to secure an increased quota.
