Bar Council reports 57 per cent pass rate in October 2024 Bar Exam

The Bar Council of Maldives has announced that 57 per cent of candidates passed the October 2024 examinations.
In an announcement made on Thursday, the Bar Council revealed the results of the October 2024 Bar Examination. The Council stated that 57 per cent of candidates met the required competency standards to enter the legal profession, while 43 per cent did not pass the exam. Additionally, 14 candidates achieved the highest marks, demonstrating exceptional performance.
The examination, which covered six core areas of law, was designed to assess candidates' competency and uphold the integrity of the legal profession.
The Bar Examination is a key initiative by the Bar Council to strengthen the legal profession in the Maldives, ensuring that newcomers possess the necessary skills and knowledge to serve the community. This year's examination was conducted with the support of USAID and the American Bar Association.
