Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to continuing projects initiated under previous administrations. 

Speaking at the launch of a brand-new football field in AA. Ukulhas, he described the facility as a milestone for the community and a sign of the nation’s ongoing progress.

Addressing the youth in particular, the Vice President stressed their critical role in driving the nation forward. He assured that the Government is determined to address their concerns with urgency and respect, recognising their value to the nation.

The opening ceremony included a ribbon-cutting by the Vice President and his signing of a commemorative football. The highlight of the event was an exhibition match featuring a team of football legends, including former national team players, who went up against a spirited Ukulhas youth team.

The event drew notable attendees, including Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu and Ukulhas Council President Shaukath Ibrahim. The new field is part of a broader effort by the Government to rejuvenate football and promote sports development across the Maldives.
