First Lady Sajidha Mohamed graced the Group A clash between Ha. Dhidhdhoo and Dh. Meedhoo in the ongoing 90 Plus Gold Cup 2024 football tournament.

The match, played at Galolhu National Stadium on Thursday evening, ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw. Following the game, the First Lady presented the ‘Man of the Match’ award to Ibrahim Imran, who scored two goals for Dh. Meedhoo.

The ‘90 Plus Gold Cup 2024’ is a nationwide football tournament that kicked off on November 20. The competition, featuring 17 teams from across the Maldives, aims to revitalise football culture in the country. All matches are being hosted at the Galolhu National Stadium, drawing fans and dignitaries alike to celebrate the spirit of the sport.

The event has seen the participation of several senior Government officials and parliamentarians, with Vice President Al-Ustaz Hussain Mohamed Latheef also attending a match earlier in the tournament. .
