The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, has conveyed his congratulations to Finland's Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen as the Nordic nation celebrates its Independence Day.

In his message, Minister Dr Khaleel extended warm wishes on behalf of the Maldivian Government and its people to Minister Valtonen, the Finnish government, and citizens. He expressed his optimism about the continued growth of bilateral relations between the two nations, noting that strengthened cooperation would benefit both peoples.

The Minister emphasised the friendly ties between the two countries and conveyed his highest consideration to his Finnish counterpart.

Finland celebrates its Independence Day on December 6, marking its declaration of independence from the Russian Empire in 1917.
