The Ministry of Social and Family Development, in collaboration with UNDP Maldives, has commenced a four-day training programme from 1 to 4 February 2026 to strengthen the capacity of caseworkers responding to gender-based violence (GBV) and domestic violence (DV).

The training focuses on enhancing practical skills for implementing the Procedure Manual on Responding to Cases of GBV and DV, developed in partnership with FPAMaldives and UNFPA Maldives.

According to the Ministry, the programme aims to promote survivor-centred, safe, confidential, and ethical service delivery, supporting frontline responders in providing effective assistance to survivors. The initiative is supported through multiple international funding partners and reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional responses to GBV and DV across the Maldives.
